Approximately 1500+ sq. ft. of living space on a 1.3 acre wooded lot that overlooks the Sanborn Creek in Lake County, MI. Located east of Baldwin, this cabin is easily accessed from US 10.
The cabin was build by hand as the retirement home of it's original owner. The man and his wife moved to the area and selected the perfect spot to build - on the banks of the Sanborn Creek. Nestled in the woods just off the main highway, the location couldn't be better.
Because the cabin is hand-made, it has some interesting details like the fieldstone fireplace and open beam construction. Stacked, square-cut timbers form the walls of each 10-sided structure. That's right, the main living space and bedroom area are decagons! Each is capped with a high dome for an open, expanding feel.
Built for the view, the cabin has floor to ceiling windows positioned all around the living space overlooking the Sanborn Creek and back of the property. A walking path leads out the rear sliding door, down to the creek which creates a large island to explore.
The current owners purchased the cabin a few years ago with the thought of someday retiring here as well. In the meantime, they've chosen to share this treasure with others who could enjoy staying there.
